Project: Update to Feingold Backbone shirts.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Goals: A highly requested update to a classic and well-loved Russ Feingold campaign t-shirt from 2010. Communicate the same values, but make the design fit the 2016 campaign’s aesthetic.
Result: After researching the structure and shape of some backbones, I was able to design a minimalistic representation for the back of the shirt. It manages to communicate the same idea of “a candidate with a backbone” while looking a lot less creepy and more in line with modern design standards.
For the front of the shirt, I swapped out the 2010 logo for the 2016 wordmark, using a small state of Wisconsin to bring some color and brightness to a relatively dark and plain shirt.
